Meet the Teachers

Hello! We are Ms. Amanda and Ms. Lindy, the teachers at North Glenora Playschool. We consider ourselves energetic teachers who put play first every day. We believe that play is the work of young children, not just a break from more important tasks. Plentiful opportunities for movement, to be creative, to build and become are vital to childrens' development. Children need to experience as much as they can first-hand and be supported by adults to make new discoveries and develop a passion for life-long exploration and learning. We are excited to grow with you all this year!

Notes from Ms. Amanda - I have a diploma in Early Childhood Development from Grant MacEwan University and over 20 years of experience working with children. I have been the head teacher at North Glenora Playschool since 2020. In my career I have worked in daycare, taught preschool, and have been an educational assistant. I find working with children rewarding and I enjoy teaching playschool very much.

A little about me, I grew up on a farm and have a deep love for all creatures great and small. I enjoy camping and being outdoors, particularly in the mountains. My hobbies include running, biking through the river valley, and gardening, and I have recently taught myself to crochet. My family is incredibly important to me and my two boys can be found popping into the playschool from time to time.

Notes from Ms. Lindy - I am currently working towards getting my Early Childhood Educator level 1.  I have been assisting Ms. Amanda since 2023, but I have been a part of the North Glenora Playschool family since 2020 - both of my boys attended with Ms. Amanda as their teacher. I am enjoying working with the children here at Playschool very much; it’s both fun and rewarding and I am grateful for the opportunity.

A fun fact fact about me, I have only had two real jobs before here. I worked at Walmart out of high school for less then a year then I was with a company for 16 years, doing everything from warehouse picker to administrative duties and payroll in that timespan, before becoming a stay at home mom in 2017. My family loves heading to the mountains for camping and hiking and we cannot wait for our next adventure!
